About Skagerak
Skagerak was founded in 1976 by Jesper and Vibeke Panduro in Hasselager, Denmark, named after the strait between Denmark, Norway and Sweden. For four decades the workshop built a quiet reputation on one premise: honest teak garden furniture, made to weather Nordic winters and silver into the next generation. In 2020 Skagerak was acquired by Fritz Hansen and folded into the company's outdoor programme; the original product archive, Drachmann (Bernt Santesson, 1982), Selandia (Anders & Lars Hegelund), Plank (Aurélien Barbry), Tradition and Riviera (Povl B. Eskildsen), Regatta (Hans Thyge), Overlap (TAF Architects), continues in production under the Fritz Hansen umbrella. All outdoor wood remains 100% FSC™-certified Burmese teak. Materials & craft
Skagerak's outdoor archive works in a tight material vocabulary, teak first, with selected metals and weather-tested textiles for cushions and accessories.
Acquisition note
Skagerak operated independently from 1976 until 2020, when Fritz Hansen, Denmark's senior furniture house, founded 1872, acquired the company in a move to broaden into outdoor. The acquisition kept the Skagerak team, the Hasselager workshop and the FSC™ teak supply chain intact; the only material change at retail level is the umbrella name. The original product archive listed above is unchanged, and each piece is still made to the same Danish-coast specification. Trade enquiries continue through the standard Fritz Hansen B2B channels, and through us.
