Plank is Skagerak's most reductive piece, a teak bench by French designer Aurélien Barbry, who worked out of Copenhagen for a decade before returning to Paris. The brief allowed exactly two elements: a single solid teak board for the seat, and four splayed teak legs joined into it on a mortise. There is no apron, no stretcher, no visible hardware. Plank ships in two lengths and reads more like a piece of dock or jetty timber than garden furniture; the silvering pattern across the grain is part of the design intent.
