About Mater
The Copenhagen house that re-issued Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel's 1955 Ocean chair in recycled household plastic. Mater (Latin for "mother") operates on a single principle: every object should be made from waste material that would otherwise end up in landfill, then designed to be disassembled and recycled again at end-of-life. The outdoor catalog is small and deliberate, the Ditzel Ocean lounge in its original two-person and individual configurations, plus the Lounge table, every piece carrying full material-traceability documentation. Compare with our Muuto, Skagerak and Nanimarquina catalogs for adjacent specs.
