About the collection

Space

Space is Cane-line's modular outdoor lounge concept, designed by the Danish duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen MDD. Single, sofa and corner modules combine into sofas, L-shapes and daybeds, and because you can swap a back or side module for a table, a Space sofa converts into a sunbed. Deep, quick-dry Cane-line AirTouch cushions sit on a low powder-coated aluminum frame with an integrated teak side shelf. The result is a relaxed, contemporary lounge built to stand outside all year. Compare it with the Arch and Connect modular ranges, or browse the full Cane-line collection.

About the Space collection by Cane-line

The Space collection sits within Cane-line's permanent outdoor catalog — a modular lounge concept with quick-dry AirTouch cushions by Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen MDD. The system stands outside all year, has high lightfastness, and uses a powder-coated aluminum frame with an integrated teak side shelf. Cane-line has produced outdoor furniture in Hadsund, Denmark, since 1986.

Material and construction notes

Space combines quick-dry Cane-line AirTouch cushions, a teak side shelf and a powder-coated aluminum frame. For US trade specifiers, Space carries the same material data sheets and US-trade documentation as the rest of the Cane-line catalog: ASTM F1858 outdoor furniture compliance where applicable, fire-code classification on cushion components, and chain-of-shipment documentation supplied with the invoice. Bespoke fabric or finish substitutions are accepted on COM workflow with confirmed yardage at quote stage; see the Sunbrella and Outdura specifier reference for the workflow at the European factory.

Specifying Space in US trade projects

Pricing for Space at US trade typically falls between $1,800 and $7,500 per module — the single module at the lower end, the large corner and daybed configurations higher — before fabric grade, finish premium, and consolidated freight. Lead time is 6-10 weeks from Denmark to US port for standard configurations; bespoke layouts, COM upholstery, or large hospitality volumes extend by 4-8 weeks. The collection is specified in US hospitality outdoor (resort pool decks, hotel lounges, spa terraces) and in premium residential outdoor (poolside, terrace, rooftop) installations.

Frequently asked specifier questions

What is the Cane-line Space collection made of?

Space uses deep, quick-dry Cane-line AirTouch cushions on a low powder-coated aluminum frame with an integrated teak side shelf. The system stands outside all year with high lightfastness and minimal maintenance, and the AirTouch foam drains and dries quickly after rain.

What pieces are in the Cane-line Space collection?

Space is a modular system: single, sofa and corner modules that build into sofas, L-shapes and daybeds. Because a back or side module can be swapped for a table, a Space sofa converts into a sunbed, so layouts are built to fit the space.

Is the Cane-line Space collection covered by trade pricing?

Yes. Cane-line runs a verified US trade programme. Net trade pricing for Space is shared after qualification (designer of record, project scope) under the standard Cane-line trade terms for premium European outdoor specifiers. COM upholstery and bespoke layouts are accepted within manufacturer tolerance — see the FF&E procurement workflow.

Care, warranty, and US service life

Cane-line AirTouch is engineered for outdoor exposure: the quick-dry foam drains after rain, and covers rinse clean with water and mild soap. The powder-coated aluminum frame resists corrosion and carries a 5-year structural warranty; the teak side shelf weathers to a silver-grey patina or keeps its tone with periodic oiling. Cushions reach maximum service life when stored indoors during off-season in freeze-thaw climates. Service life is typically 15+ years with basic care.
