About the collection

Al Dente

Al Dente is Cane-line's playful outdoor chair family, designed by Cane-line Design. The seat and backrest are handwoven in slim, spaghetti-like strands that give both visual lightness and a tactile, structured surface, set on a strong powder-coated aluminum frame. A dining chair and a lounge chair come in a bright range of colors, so the same design carries a cafe terrace, a balcony or a hospitality courtyard. Compare it with the Vibe and Moments chair ranges, or browse the full Cane-line collection.

About the Al Dente collection by Cane-line

The Al Dente collection sits within Cane-line's permanent outdoor catalog — a string-weave chair family by Cane-line Design. The weave has high lightfastness on a powder-coated aluminum frame and comes in several colors. Cane-line has produced outdoor furniture in Hadsund, Denmark, since 1986.

Material and construction notes

Al Dente combines a handwoven string weave and a powder-coated aluminum frame, with optional weather-ready seat cushions. For US trade specifiers, Al Dente carries the same material data sheets and US-trade documentation as the rest of the Cane-line catalog: ASTM F1858 outdoor furniture compliance where applicable, fire-code classification on cushion components, and chain-of-shipment documentation supplied with the invoice. Bespoke color or finish substitutions are accepted on COM workflow at quote stage; see the Sunbrella and Outdura specifier reference for the workflow at the European factory.

Specifying Al Dente in US trade projects

Pricing for Al Dente at US trade typically falls between $450 and $1,900 per piece — the dining chair at the lower end, the lounge chair higher — before finish premium and consolidated freight. Lead time is 6-10 weeks from Denmark to US port for standard configurations; bespoke colors or large hospitality volumes extend by 4-8 weeks. The collection is specified in US hospitality outdoor (cafe terraces, boutique hotels, courtyard dining) and in premium residential outdoor (balcony, terrace, courtyard) installations.

Frequently asked specifier questions

What is the Cane-line Al Dente collection made of?

Al Dente has a seat and backrest handwoven in slim, spaghetti-like strands on a strong powder-coated aluminum frame. The string weave has high lightfastness and a tactile, structured surface, comes in several colors, and is engineered for year-round outdoor use; optional seat cushions are available.

What pieces are in the Cane-line Al Dente collection?

Al Dente is a chair family: a dining chair and a lounge chair, each offered in a bright range of weave colors. The shared string-weave design lets the dining and lounge versions read as one collection across a project.

Is the Cane-line Al Dente collection covered by trade pricing?

Yes. Cane-line runs a verified US trade programme. Net trade pricing for Al Dente is shared after qualification (designer of record, project scope) under the standard Cane-line trade terms for premium European outdoor specifiers. Bespoke colors are accepted within manufacturer tolerance — see the FF&E procurement workflow.

Care, warranty, and US service life

The Al Dente string weave is engineered for outdoor exposure: rinse with clean water and mild soap, then let it air-dry. The powder-coated aluminum frame resists corrosion and carries a 5-year structural warranty. Optional cushions handle direct exposure but reach maximum service life when stored indoors during off-season in freeze-thaw climates. Service life is typically 15+ years with basic care.
